Background

Amel Murphy is a storyteller, somatic therapist, systemic constellator, and leadership facilitator working at the intersection of personal healing and collective transformation. With over 25 years’ experience across leadership, organisational development, and systems change, she supports leaders and communities navigating burnout, disconnection, and deep transition.

Her work restores what modern life fractures: our capacity for connection, aliveness, and right relationship. Drawing on somatic awareness, ancestral wisdom, and systemic intelligence, she invites individuals to reweave their relationship with self, others, and life itself. Through story as medicine, she helps people reclaim belonging, awaken imagination, and step into leadership rooted in kinship, stewardship, and care.

At the School of System Change

Amel is a contributor to the session 'Sensing through whole body awareness' on the Making Sense of Systems Learning & Practice Series in 2026.

"What excites me is that systems change is becoming less about intervention and more about relationships. There is a shift from trying to fix systems from the outside toward sensing them as living fields we are already part of. I see a growing willingness to include what was once left out: the body, the emotional, the ancestral, the unseen dynamics that shape how systems hold or fracture. At the same time, I find myself in a question. As this field expands, what becomes normalised and what gets diluted? What is honoured and what is extracted? For me, the edge is this. Can we practise systems change in a way that changes us as practitioners, not only the systems we touch? Can we stay in right relationship with the depth, the lineage, and the responsibility this work carries?"
